We went to Beaver Brook to take her senior portrait this early evening.
Her last first day of school is Monday Then oh my goodness off to college next year. Time needs to slow down.
These two will be off to Bar Harbor this afternoon to the Artemis Gallery. In just a little while the weather will start turning to my favorite season. I'm done with the hazy hot and humid.
Strangely enough I am so looking forward to cleaning and reorganizing the house. The web site needs a good overhaul also. Its been so busy painting and and getting the show ready to hang this Friday, and very happily restocking my two new favorite galleries McRae Litt and Artemis. Off to UPS.
These guys are the next round off to Vail. And they ask for the one below knowing its not finished yet. Today I'm spending the day framing the three above and packaging them for the UPS man and painting the one below. I think it will be named Winter Aspen... how original. It is watercolor on clayboard with a little acrylic glaze layered on top 24 x 36
It feels like I own blue, the sea green blues the cool blues. Those are my colors. Painting in them is a day ,well at the beach. I know what to place next to what how to get the emphasis of color I want. I love those colors I could live in them. But you can't stay in your comfort zone all the time. The colors above are a challenge for me. Last night's sunset was the inspiration. I wanted to paint in those color to live in them for awhile. This morning I happened to see this postcard I got in the Museum d'Orsay Monet is the master of color. So I stole his for my inspiration this morning. I never do this, It's a first, but why not learn from the best that ever was.
It's a beginning. Seeing it on the computer screen always helps me I see what I can't when I'm staring it straight in the eye. Let's see what it looks like by tomorrow.
Sounds and another painting is off to P'town this morning, I hope they find their forever home. The show opens Sept 4th and runs through the 22nd.
Enjoying the meteor showers these past few nights. You can have a little memory to look back at all year. These are still available.
Promises in Every Star is off to Colorado, I hope it finds it forever home in Vail.
Mystic Arts festival was a beautiful weekend. It was a first we always meet dogs we've seen a few cats enjoying art shows but this was a first : we meet a bird enjoying the paintings. he stopped for awhile we had no fruit to offer him so he bit me!
A couple days ago I received an email from the Vail gallery they saw and wanted two of my new pieces. It made me happy because I was not sure how people would respond to the new work. On the other side they wanted two of the new pieces that I had been working on for the Helen Bumpus Gallery and my Fall shows. Its a good problem to have when I have to keep painting to have enough for upcoming shows. They wanted If I Had a Boat, one of my favorites. I would never turn them down, they are very supportive of my work. So I made another. The cousin will be at Mystic art Festival this weekend, while the original will be in route to Vail. The new one is called I'd Go out on the Ocean.
