Shhh... I'm a great procrastinator.....I have four paintings I'm working on that are commissions. That I wanted to have completed by the end of October. And here I am working on these. The one above is a 30 x 40 encaustic, it started out life going to a show in Danvers for mid November. However now its going to be in the Alpers Art Gallery Holiday Show, in Andover Ma, from mid November until the first of the year. The one below is a mid size watercolor. I wanted to see pink birches.
I should have my commission pieces done by the end of next week. A week behind that's not to bad is it???
In the 8 years our kids have been attending NMRHS, there has been a Service Learning trip to NOLA, it grew legs now they have a trip to Philadelphia and New York. They do everything from working in soup kitchens, tutoring kids, to building houses. Peter did that his last year there, he made on the FOX new in New Orleans, he was pictured up on a ladder hammering something. Peter (son ) took part for three trips sophomore year though senior year. This year is Sam's first time to participate. It is an amazing opportunity.
November 12th is the annual Spaghetti Supper to raise money for the trip they need and raise over 38, 000 every year to go. If you go you can "enjoy" spaghetti and salad and take part in the silent auction. You can find everything from a Bruins puck, tickets to Boston sporting events, Kids working at your house to get that last bit of pesky fall yard work done. AND this lovely 8 x 10 Birch tree encaustic, framed and ready to hang. I guarantee you it will go for a bargain.
Stop in to the North Middlesex Regional High School November 12. You'll be investing in a great opportunity for the kids.

Well I would love to post a new painting. But I'm working on all commissioned pieces right now. And honestly I'm not ready to share them yet. But I'm always ready to share a picture of Mr Ruggedly Handsome. This is his perplexed. i'm not sure whats going on look.
So ... i had to take pictures of my studio for an event with one of the art groups I'm a part of. I thought I'd share them with You
Last year on my birthday, of all days, I got an interesting email. I thought it was a joke, husband checked it out, it wasn't. The art director of the movie St Vincent's was was looking for painting to be in the movie. I packaged them well prints of them< the fed ex truck came and shipped them off to New York.
Last night I finally saw a trailer for the movie and it opens on October 10th.and widely on October 17th.
My brother and my niece Katie will be up from Virginia and Chicago on Friday other wise I'd be out watching MY MOVIE.
My fear is that in the movie Bill Murray points to one of the paintings and say something horrible about it. It isn't a big deal. But it is fun It will be weird seeing a few of my painting in a movie. And not just any movie a Bill Murray, movie with Naomi Watts, Melisa McCarthy and Chris O'Dowd.
This Movie critic gives two thumbs up to St Vincent's, and yes I'mm probably buy the DVD when it comes out.
Honestly have you seen a dog more ruggedly handsome ? If they ever make another Firefly you know who will be cast as Mal,
It's been awhile since I posted a pix of Gonzo. It is his calendar picture.
