In hindsight we were horrible dog people to Gonzo when he first came to us. 2013 was not a good year and Flossie leaving us right at Christmas and us getting Gonzo right at Christmas made a perfect storm.
We loved him for just being a puppy, we needed a ball of fur and we loved him for being a ball of fur. We laughed when he did cute things we cuddled him when he did cute BAD things. We enabled him to do anything he wanted, because he was the fur ball we needed. In our defense though his personality is aggressive and dominate, he came to us like that. The signs were there and WE ignored them, because he's our sweet fur ball to us. Ignoring them was our bad.
He's a 60 lbs Australian Shepard stocky and made of muscle. We have to be the leader not him. He's Not the OCD, talk/howl back at me Border Collie we had who never really had to be told no you can't do that Flossie. She loved everybody and everybody loved her. Flossie is laughing at saying this is what you get for bringing another dog into my house... a little shit. By the way he answers to ... little shit. Gonzo loves us and Sam's boyfriend, everyone else is shady and should be "dealt with." He's a work in progress and he's getting better.
Gonzo is what we needed and wanted , he's almost perfect. we're working on him.
